IK Multimedia Just Launched Its Flagship Tonex Board — Here's What It Means If You're Already on the Tonex Ecosystem

If you've been following IK Multimedia's Tonex lineup, this is the release the ecosystem has been building toward. The Tonex Board is IK's new flagship floor unit, and it's a genuine step up from the compact Tonex One pedals we already carry — this one's built to be a complete, all-in-one rig rather than just a tone-modeling add-on to your existing setup.

What Makes the Tonex Board Different From the Tonex One

The Tonex One you can already buy from us is a compact single-pedal solution — great for a fly rig, but limited to one Tone Model running at a time. The Tonex Board changes that math entirely: it can run four Tone Models simultaneously across two fully independent signal paths. That means genuinely complex setups — wet/dry rigs, dual-amp stereo configurations, even two separate guitars run through two independent chains from dual stereo inputs — are now possible from a single floor unit rather than needing multiple pedals stacked together.

The Sound Library Is Substantial

IK Multimedia is shipping the Tonex Board with 76 amp and effects models out of the box — a mix pulled from AmpliTube 5, the existing Tonex library, and ten brand-new effects models built specifically for this unit. Beyond that, IK Multimedia says the unit ships with 2,000 Premium Tone Models total, some pulled from the Tonex MAX library and the new Tonex ONE+ Signature Collection, with others exclusive to the Board itself. If you're already using ToneNET — IK's user-generated tone-sharing community — that library is available here too, on top of everything built in.

Nine effects categories are covered on board, including overdrive/distortion, modulation, delay, and reverb, plus a custom IR loader if you want to bring in your own impulse responses. A stereo effects loop also lets you integrate physical pedals into the digital chain, and the unit doubles as a guitar audio interface for direct recording.

"The Tonex One customers have been buying from us are already genuinely impressive for the price — this Board is aimed at a different kind of player, someone running a more complex live rig who wants everything in one floor unit instead of juggling multiple pedals. If you're happy with a single Tone Model at a time, the One is still the smarter buy."

Tonex Board

Hardware and Control

The Board is controlled via push-rotary knobs alongside a 5-inch colour touchscreen, with 1,400 onboard presets and the ability to arrange up to a dozen Tone Model and effects slots anywhere in your signal chain. Connectivity covers MIDI, USB-C, a headphone output, and the dual stereo inputs mentioned above. If you want to model your own amps, cabs, or pedals, the bundled Tonex Modeler software handles that, the same capture tech already used across the Tonex One and Tonex Pedal lines.

Pricing and What This Means for Malaysia

The Tonex Board launched at £959/$999/€999 overseas — no confirmed Malaysian pricing or local stock timeline yet, since this is a genuinely fresh announcement. Given that we already carry the Tonex One and have run limited releases like the Tonex One Double Special before, this is very likely to land in our catalogue eventually, but we'd treat any RM price you see elsewhere online as unconfirmed until it's actually listed with us.

In the Meantime, Explore What's Already Here

If the Tonex ecosystem interests you but you don't need the Board's four-Tone-Model complexity, the Tonex One is a genuinely strong entry point already in our catalogue — compact, pedalboard-friendly, and built on the same AI Machine Modeling technology. Browse our IK Multimedia collection to see current stock, or reach out via WhatsApp to get on our notification list once the Tonex Board's Malaysian availability is confirmed.
