M-VAVE has been working on a new multi-effects processor, the MATRX, which looks like a big leap forward for the brand.
They are known for producing affordable effects processors, wireless products and music gear. Their range of products including the MK-300, MK-20 and TANK PRO have helped them reach more guitarists.
The MATRX seems to be aimed at those wanting extra control over their guitar tone. With a bigger touch screen, more complex routing and being floor based.
It has caught peoples attention and is set to be released in 2027.
A Large Touchscreen for Easier Control
One of the first things to note is that there is a large touch screen.
Whilst many multi effects processors use a small screen with buttons, this appears to be very different.
It may make navigating through effects, editing presets and creating signal paths.
The unit appears to have multi functional footswitches that can act as a rotary. This may mean that they can be used as switches but can also be adjusted.
If you are a musician that often changes your sounds during performances then this may help provide easy access to settings.

More Advanced Signal Routing
Seems like there are more flexibility with the signal routing than some of the smaller processors here.
Looking at the initial images you can see that there are various signal routing options available to let you create more complex effect chains.
This can prove useful if you are creating complex presets using several amplifiers and effects.
For example, a guitarist would like to split their signal to route it through two different signals. One could be a clean amplifier tone and the other a distorted sound.
However, M-VAVE have not confirmed what the final options will be and how much processing you will be able to do.
Possible Support for NAM Profiles
Another interesting feature is support for Neural Amp Modeler (NAM).
This lets guitarists use digitally sampled amps and audio equipment that can emulate the sound and feel of real gear.
Products like the MK-300, MK-20 and TANK PRO have had updates to support NAM A2.
Therefore people are interested in knowing if NAM is supported on the MATRX.
If it is then guitarists will have access to an even larger range of amp sounds and profiles.
However, this hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, so we will have to wait for M-VAVE to release their final specs.
More Connections for Different Setups
The initial pictures of the MATRX reveal multiple connection points.
There seem plenty of inputs and outputs, plus connections which could be for external pedals and other devices.
This would allow it to be used for a variety of situations such as home recording, practice and performing.
However, we do not know what connections there are and what they do. We would recommend waiting until the official spec sheet is released before deciding anything based on the connectivity.

Trails Function for Delay and Reverb
Another feature provided by the initial information is:
Trails
This means that you can have the effects of Delay and Reverb smoothly fade out when changing between presets or turning effects off.
Without this your delay/reverb may cut out completely.
This can be useful for guitarists using long delays, ambient sounds or large reverb as it will smooth the transition between sounds.
This can be a useful feature for live performance as you can change between different tones within a song.
How Does the MATRX Compare to Other M-VAVE Processors?
A number of multi-effects options are available within the M-VAVE range.
The MK-20 and MK-300 have a lot of effects, amps and tones. However, the TANK PRO also has drum sounds, loops and a small screen.
The MATRX seems to be the top of the range with its large touch screen and possible complex routing.
This would seem to indicate that M-VAVE want to give you a fully featured floor modeller.
It is too early to tell how powerful it is compared to the others, what the sound quality will be like and how many effects are available until we see the full spec sheet.

When Will the M-VAVE MATRX Be Available?
M-VAVE has been showcasing a mysterious new product in their Music China 2026 event.
Based on early demos of the product, it is expected to be released in 2027. An exact release date has yet to be confirmed.
The price is unknown however, any price seen online should be seen as an estimate.
If you are buying this in Malaysia, then the price and availability will depend on the official release and distribution deals.
Is the M-VAVE MATRX Worth Waiting For?
Looks like we have another cool addition to the multi effects market here!
With a huge touch screen interface, multi function foot switches and potential advanced signal routing, this could prove to be a useful piece of kit for anyone looking to get more out of their tones.
If it had NAM support then it would be even more interesting for those of you that like to play around with different amp captures.
Until we know the full spec and price details from M-VAVE it is best to wait.
M-VAVE have already created a whole range of budget guitar processors so this could be their next big step into creating an advanced multi effect unit.
