The Cort GB-Short Scale 4-String Electric Bass Guitar combines classic bass character, modern electronics and comfortable playability in a compact, stylish instrument. Finished in an eye-catching Fandango Purple, this bass is designed for musicians who want punchy, warm and versatile tones without the longer neck reach of a traditional full-scale bass.
Featuring a 30-inch (762mm) short-scale design, the GB-Short Scale offers a comfortable playing experience with reduced fret spacing compared with standard 34-inch bass guitars. Its compact design makes it an excellent choice for beginners, players with smaller hands, guitarists transitioning to bass and experienced musicians who prefer the feel of a short-scale instrument.
The bass features a Poplar body with a vibrant gloss finish, delivering a comfortable playing feel and a balanced tonal foundation. Its distinctive Fandango Purple colour is complemented by chrome hardware for a classic yet contemporary appearance.
The bolt-on Roasted Maple neck features a comfortable C-shaped profile and a smooth matte finish, providing excellent playability for extended practice sessions, rehearsals and live performances.
Paired with a Roasted Maple fingerboard, the GB-Short Scale offers a responsive playing surface with 22 medium-jumbo nickel-silver frets. The fingerboard features black dot inlays with matching black side dots, giving the instrument a clean and modern appearance.
At the heart of the GB-Short Scale is a Cort Powersound Humbucker pickup, designed to deliver powerful bass tones with warmth, punch and clarity. Whether you're playing smooth funk grooves, classic rock bass lines or modern pop arrangements, the humbucker provides a versatile tonal foundation.
The bass is equipped with a Markbass MB-1 preamp featuring a 3-band EQ, allowing players to shape their sound through Bass, Mid and Treble adjustments. This provides flexible tonal control for different playing styles, amplifiers and musical environments.
A dedicated 3-way Pickup Function Selector offers additional tonal options, allowing players to explore different pickup voicings to suit their preferred sound.
The instrument also features a Vintage-style bridge and Open Gear tuning machines, combining traditional bass aesthetics with practical performance features.
For convenient maintenance and setup adjustments, the GB-Short Scale includes a two-way adjustable truss rod with spoke-nut access, making neck relief adjustments more accessible.
Factory-equipped with .045–.105 gauge strings, the bass provides a familiar string setup in a compact short-scale format.
