The SB55 is the latest addition to the Eastman family and is essentially a beautiful interpretation of the well-known ‘Junior’. Partly because of the high quality and beautiful aging that Eastman is known to be very experienced with, this has become a very attractive new guitar model.
The single cut shape is of course about 60 years old and at first glance seems to be one of the many, until you plug it in. At that time, they were already aware of the power of simplicity and did not underestimate the use of quality parts. The 1-piece Okoume mahogany body features a similar neck and features Eastman’s varnish finish and weighs just 3.15kg. This gives the instrument a great beautiful vintage look that also allows the wood to breathe. The Lollar ’50s spec pickup characterized by its lower output giving it a very dynamic and bright tone. The compensated wraparound bridge and machine heads are provided by Faber and ensure that the guitar stays in tune whilst giving the guitar a wonderful resonance and sustain.
