The Seymour Duncan SSL-2 Vintage Flat delivers the classic sparkle, clarity, and warmth of vintage Stratocaster pickups while featuring flat Alnico 5 pole pieces for improved string balance on modern guitars. Designed for instruments with flatter fingerboard radii and players using lighter gauge strings, the SSL-2 produces a smoother, more even response without sacrificing vintage character.
Built using traditional Fender-style construction methods, the SSL-2 uses Forbon flatwork, cloth push-back hookup wire, and wax potting for authentic vintage performance with reduced unwanted noise. The reverse wound, reverse polarity (RWRP) middle pickup provides hum-canceling operation in positions 2 and 4 while retaining the signature "quack" associated with classic Stratocaster tones.
• Vintage Stratocaster single-coil tone with clear highs and warm mids
• Flat Alnico 5 pole pieces provide balanced string response
• Designed for modern fingerboard radii and lighter gauge strings
• Smooth and articulate sound with reduced high-end harshness
• Reverse Wound, Reverse Polarity (RWRP) middle pickup available for hum-canceling operation
• Classic "in-between" Strat tones in switch positions 2 and 4
• Traditional Forbon flatwork construction for authentic vintage character
• Wax potted to reduce unwanted microphonic feedback
• Cloth push-back hookup wires for vintage-style installation
• Compatible with vintage and modern Stratocaster-style guitars
